Devin Florez Chooses Mesa State

Devin Florez (17RC) is headed to Grand Junction, Colorado to play for the Mesa State Mavericks. Out of La Quinta High School, Devin helped lead her high school team to the CIF DIV III-A championship game for the first time in the school's history and an impressive overall record of 27 and 7. Devin will play for Dave Fleming who will begin his fourth year at Mesa State next fall. Since joining the Mavericks, Fleming's Division II team has received two tournament berths and one RMAC west division title and barely missed the NCAA Southwest Regional Title in a close championship match that was decided in the fith game. Fleming has also coached for the University of Michigan, UCLA and the 1996 Olympic Gold Medaling Women's National Team. |
Kylie Armbruster to west virginia

Kylie Armbruster(18-DJ Smack) is one of five girls to be joining the Mountaineers next season. Kylie chose West Virginia after earning second team all-league honors with Vista Murrieta High School, an impressive program with three consecutive undefeated league seasons and a number three national ranking two years in a row. Kylie will also be joining 2007 ulumna Bonnie West who went to the Mountaineers last year as libero. Adding her explosive offensive attack to Bonnie's defensive magic, the Big East is about to rediscover volleyball, 951 Elite style. |
Christie Allen chooses Sonoma State

Christie Allen (18-DJ Smack) will be the second 951 Elite Alumna playing for Sonoma State next season, joining current teammate Taylor Krenwinkel on the Seawolves' roster. A Senior at Corona High School, Christie anchored this year's Mountain View League Champs with an impressive 122 kills and 160 digs on the season. Her versatility and determined spirit quickly earned her a spot on 951-Elite's successful 18-DJ team. Already an MEQ Champion and soon to be Junior Olympian, Christie will no doubt continue to excel next year when she joins her teammates at Sonoma State. |
