504 Elite's 13-1 receives Junior Olympic bid!
![]() |
In only their first year, our sister club 504 Elite will be represented at the Junior Olympics. Their 13-1 squad, coach by Frank Palpallatoc, earned the Bayou Region USAV National Division bid. These girls attended the skills camps 951 Elite conducted this past summer in New Orleans, then again over spring break, and have worked hard all season. Their hard work paid off in the best possible way. The tie between our two clubs will only strengthen as we cheer each other on in Miami. Congratulations 504! |
16s visits sister club 504 elite in new orleans

A select group of 16s spent their spring break in New Orleans practicing with our sister club- 504 Elite. At the week's end, the team represented 951 Elite in the New Orleans Classic and took 1st place in the 16's division. The team also had the opportunity to tour the campus of Southern Mississippi University (above), fish in the gulf, and eat bignets at the famous Cafe du Monde just off of Bourbon street. |
16-1's to junior olympics - open division!
![]() |
It was a turbulent weekend with many ups and downs. The team played very well, but fell a little short in one important match. All hope seemed lost and tears of disappointment wrote the tragic story on their faces. Then, destiny intervened. The 16-1's received help from a most unexpected source- the team they had just beaten. A three way tie for first was the result and playoff games would decide the fait of all three teams. After receiving a bye, the 16-1's played one of their most challenging and impressive games of the year, and coming from behind, secured the open bid with the win. |

Brooke Schlachter is a standout middle who is known for her perpetual engaging smile (see picture above) and easy-going manner. Don't be fooled, however, she has a hammer for an arm swing and can block even the best hitters. Currently playing on the 18-1 squad, Brooke is recovering from an injury that has kept her off of the court for the first part of the season. Her talent, however, was already established and San Diego State didn't hesitate to add this impact player to their squad. Brooke played varsity high school volleyball for Palm Desert and has received Rookie of the Year, All CIF 2007 DII and 1st Team Desert Valley League honors. Brooke was also selected the Most Valuable Offensive Hitter for Palm Desert High School in 2007. |
Rasmussen heading to west virginia!

Karley Rasmussen (18-1) is another success story that represents why athletes have become so dedicated to 951 Elite's recruiting program. Joining our family just this season, and stepping onto a team with the expectation of being a back up setter and defensive specialist, Karly worked hard and in a few short practices and one spectacular tournament impressed the visiting coaches from West Virginia. The division I offer was soon to follow. Karly will now join 951 alumni Kylie Armbrewster, Bonnie West, and recent transfer Lauren Evans. |

Britney Graff (17-AM Smack) has verbally committed to play for Cal State Northridge. She will be joining a successful program finishing strong every season since coach Jeff Stork took over in 2002. Stork, a three-time All-American at Pepperdine and a three-time Olympian, frequented 951 Elite's summer clinics and quickly singled out Britney as a likely prospect. Britney is the second 951 Elite player to commit to Northridge. Monica McFarland is currently red-shirting with the Matadors and will be the starting Libero next fall. |

Fiesta Classic Open Division Champions 16-1's
![]() |
It was a memorable weekend as the club headed east for the annual Fiesta Classic. We were not dissapointed. Two of our teams finished in the top eight in the 18 Open division with the 17-1's (below) taking second place. Our 16-1's (above) were more than impressive as they worked their way through the 16's Open bracket and beat Club West in the finals. This was the second year in a row 951 Elite has won the Fiesta Classic in the 16 Open division. For all teams involved it was a successful weekend. College scouts were once again impressed with the depth of talent throughout the club and many of our players recieved important looks that represented the first step to a scholarship offer. |

athletes support 951 coach's fight against cancer
![]() |
One of our beloved coaches, Danielle Dale, is inspiring our athletes as she courageously battles cancer. Undaunted by the effects treatment presents, Danielle continues to smile and encourage those around her. Her determination and resilience has not faltered. Danielle has coached many of the girls in our gym as they have progressed from our 12's teams all the way through the 18's. To show their love and support, the girls donned their pink t-shirts and showered Danielle with their blessings during one recent practice. |
